Airi – Italian Association for Industrial Research – is a private, not-for profit, Association funded in 1974. Industrial enterprises (large companies and SMEs) and public research institutions are amongst its associates. Its mission is to promote industrial Research and Innovation and foster the co-operation between the private and public sector.
Airi/Nanotec IT Committee is the focal point for Nanotechnologies and Key Enabling Technologies in Italy.
Due to its broad representative base (including CEO, Directors and R&D managers of large corporations, SMEs and research institutions), AIRI is a key opinion leader for decision-makers sustaining industrial research.
International cooperation and promotion of Responsible Research and Innovation are amongst its main institutional duties.
Experience Brought to GoNano
During its lifetime, Airi has built a long experience in science policies and technology planning, risk/innovation governance of emerging technologies; RRI and ethical, legal and social aspects of technology developments; technology transfer, multi-stakeholder dialogues. Airi has also established a large network of R&I players and policy makers dealing with nanotechnologies at national and international level.
Role in the project
Airi will support stakeholder engagement activities of GoNano, in particular the involvement of R&I players and networks, innovation partnerships and policy makers. Airi will also contribute to the definition of policy recommendations to support public and stakeholder engagement in future strategies and policies for nanotechnologies.
