During summer 2019, nearly 900 participants from five European countries answered GoNano online questionnaire, which aimed to find out more about people´s understanding of nanotechnology and its application areas in Food, Energy and Health.
The GoNano project is enabling co-creation between citizens, researchers, industry, civil society organisations, and policy makers across Europe to align future nanotechnologies with societal needs and values. The Harvestore project is bringing together key actors in science and technology from across Europe with the goal of opening-up a new technology paradigm for energy harvesting and … Continued
‘Czech is nano’ is a project in the Czech Republic to popularizes the advanced work of Czech scientists and researchers, and demonstrates this with a vast selection of inventions and everyday applications of nanotechnology. Every year the Czech government organizes the Nano Days in the most important cities of the Czech Republic Technology Centre CAS … Continued
In recent years it is largely discussed that developments in science and technology do not take place independently from the society. As a response a wide range of projects has been initiated to assess nanotechnology, measuring the effects of nanoparticles on human and environmental health and exploring possible future scenarios with citizens and stakeholders. Especially … Continued
These brochures were made as background material to prepare the stakeholder workshops of the three pilots: health, energy and food. They contain basic information about the project, nanotechnologies and the needs, concerns and values from the citizen workshops. The workshops took place in the Netherlands, Spain and the Czech Republic. The objectives of the workshop … Continued
During the autumn of 2018 three citizen workshops were held in the Czech Republic, Spain and the Netherlands. More than 100 people with different backgrounds expressed their wishes, concerns and relevant messages to stakeholders as input for future nanotechnology applications. Workshop participants were asked to give their views on future uses of nanotechnologies, discussion questions … Continued
RMIT students from the School of Science participating in the International Science Perspectives HDR Study Tour 2018 took part in one of the first dissemination and RRI training activities of the GoNano project. The students were introduced to the concepts of design thinking and co-creation by Smoothie Innovators’ Sella Masselink before being tasked with co-creating … Continued
These brochures were made as background material to prepare the citizen workshops of the three pilots: health, energy and food. They contain basic information about nanotechnologies and the needs, concerns and values related to possible future applications of nanotechnology. The aim of the workshop with the citizens is to examine future visions of concrete nanotechnology … Continued
In the energy sector, many developments in nanomaterials and nano-related products are enabling new applications. For instance, insulating materials, nano-powered sensors or queantum dots. The technologies which are under development are expected to transform the energy sector from a fossil-based to a renewable-based sector. Where the most relevant impacts are expected from the application in the … Continued
