Research and development has contributed strongly in creating the modern welfare society. HiOA has 4 faculties and 3 centres. One of the centres is Centre for Welfare and Labour Research (SVA). SVA consists of four research institutes, of which two are involved in the GoNano-project: Consumption Research Norway (SIFO) and Work Research institute (AFI).

HiOA is leader of Work Package 1 (Turning lessons into action), however we will be involved in all work packages of the GoNano-project!
Both SIFO and AFI has broad experience with European projects over the last 15-20 years, and have been involved with ELSA and RRI research on governance of new and emerging technologies,
with a particular focus nanotechnologies since 2006. Although the institutes have been involved in a variety of projects, it is the dynamics between the different actors, including consumers, that are one specific dimension that distinguishes our competences.
