The Technology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences (TC CAS) – Strategic Studies Department is a leading national research centre and a think-tank in the area of management and policy for research, development and innovation. Our mission is to contribute to the improvement of strategic decision-making in research, development and innovation at the national, regional and European level.
The Strategic Studies Department has experiences with the international cooperation in research and EU FPs projects, namely it took part in the PACITA project (FP7 2011-15) aiming at increasing the science based policy making by the use of various technology assessment methods and tools. It has also been recently involved in the CIMULACT and PROVIDE (H2020) projects engaging citizens in decision making process in the area of science, technology and innovation by the use of various participatory and co-creation methods.
In addition, two other departments of TC CAS collaborate intensively with core represents of academia, industry and business specialised in the nanotechnologies:
the National Information Centre for European Research and the Technology transfer services – the leader of the Czech Enterprise Europe Network.
TC CAS is a core partner of the consortium with the main focus on Envisioning and Deliberating with citizens (WP leader) as well as being the partner responsible for one of the three pilot studies on health, food and energy.
