RMIT students developing new ideas for nanotechnology products

RMIT students from the School of Science participating in the International Science Perspectives HDR Study Tour 2018 took part in one of the first dissemination and RRI training activities of the GoNano project. The students were introduced to the concepts of design thinking and co-creation by Smoothie Innovators’ Sella Masselink before being tasked with co-creating their own ideas for nanotechnology products they wish to see in the future.

GoNano associate, Craig Richmond, from RMIT Europe, said the event was a great success: “The students were exposed to new concepts and experiences that will serve them well as they progress in their scientific careers whilst enjoying themselves and expressing their creative talents in the process.” Here you can see some of the ideas the students came up with, from disease preventing smart watches to insect repelling solar panels.
