Our project coordinator, Lise Bitsch, was asked to write an article for the Nanopinion section on the EUON (European Union Observatory for Nanomaterials) website. In this blog, she raises questions about why should we be interested in and strengthen societal engagement in research and innovation processes? and what do responsible research and innovation even mean in practice? She presents a few arguments for why actors in the research and innovation world of nanotechnologies and other key enabling technologies should care about societal engagement.

Later in her article, she further describes the role of GoNano in this debate and how the project is currently piloting an approach for the co-creation in three different sectors and countries, intending to gain further insight into the preconditions for enhanced responsiveness in nanotechnologies.
